Therapy for Kids, Teens, and Adults (Oh my!)

Learn a little bit more about what I offer as a therapist below!

  • With kids, I primarily use Synergetic Play Therapy. I know I know, what the heck is that?

Synergetic Play Therapy, or SPT for short, is a research-informed approach that uses relationship and the therapeutic powers of play to support children in growing into their most authentic selves. What I love about SPT is that it allows me to be myself in the play therapy room, which in turn allows kids to feel safe to be themselves too.

  • I often get asked at what age are kids “too old” for play therapy, and the answer is… the limit does not exist! Kids transition from play therapy to talk therapy whenever they’re ready to.

When working with tweens and teens, therapy usually looks like something in between play and talk therapy. Some t(w)eens are ready to sit across from me and talk about their lives and their mental health, while others are still not in “talking mode” yet… and that is not a problem at all to me! I usually incorporate art, sand tray, and other expressive interventions into my work no matter the age of my client

  • While I am a kid at heart, I love working with adults too!

Similar to my approach with kids, when I work with adults I always try to prioritize the therapeutic relationship and attune to your particular wants and needs. I support my adult clients in getting more connected with their bodies and developing a more loving and flexible relationship with all parts of themselves.

I am always trying to strike a balance between helping you feel safe “enough” in the therapeutic relationship and challenging you when you’re ready so that you can grow. (Because unfortunately, growth doesn’t happen without getting uncomfortable. I wish it didn’t have to be that way either).

I see children and teens in person with the wonderful collective I am a part of in downtown Beaverton, The Real Work. Please see The Real Work’s website to book an initial consultation with me if you are interested!
